Jeff Pottinger consults in the areas of supply chain management, retail operations, program management, and business development. He is a motivational leader and team builder with over twenty-eight years of progressive leadership and management experience in DoD, big-box retail, and consulting. Jeff is adept at streamlining and improving operations while cutting costs, significantly improving the bottom line and has demonstrated superb interpersonal, organizational, negotiation, problem-solving and communication skills throughout his career.
During his
twenty-four year career in the US Navy, Jeff
served in a variety of challenging supply chain
management, information technology, training,
and administrative leadership positions.
Operational logistics assignments included duty
aboard three ships, culminating in his
assignment as Supply Officer aboard the Navy’s
first-ever mine countermeasure support ship,
where he developed the logistics concept
of operations, led seven divisions and
collaborated with three separate staff groups to
manage logistics and financial management for a
Navy Battle Group. Ashore, Jeff’s
operational tours included developing a unique
concept of supply support for overseas customers
while assigned to a 43,000 person logistics
agency and as Material and Requirements Planning
Director for a 400-person organization with an
180,000 line item inventory valued at $2.7
billion. Most recently, Jeff led a 2-state district of eight big-box electronic retail stores with $100 million in annual sales. He was responsible for sales, customer service, inventory management, staffing, scheduling and training. He mentored eight Store Directors and thirty sales and operations managers. Jeff received his BS in Business Administration from The Ohio State University, an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Colgate-Darden Graduate School of Business Administration, and attended the Senior Executive Program at Columbia University. |
