29, 2011 Cowan & Associates, Inc. (C&A), an Arlington, Virginia-based Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB), specializing in IT and management consulting to the federal government and academia signed a task order today with KPMG LLC, under a recently awarded contract to support the Navy’s Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy, Financial Management and Comptroller (FMO), under its Financial Improvement Program (FIP). Specifically, C&A Associate Director Jim Snare will provide support to US Fleet Forces Command to undertake an enterprise-wide effort to document, analyze, standardize and refine business processes having a financial impact to the general ledger to further the DoN's objectives towards obtaining and maintaining auditability. This contract effort will provide resource support at the Navy Command level to carry out tasks related to the FMO Business Process Standardization (BPS) intiative. The scope and timing of the tasks will be directed by the FMO based on an overall BPS project management plan. |
